Cancellation policy

Cancellations made within 6 hours of your scheduled sauna appointment or no-shows without prior notification will result in the full session fee being charged. This policy allows us to maintain a seamless experience for all our guests. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Privacy & GDPR notice

The Salty Sauna, Duncannon, Co. Wexford does not retain any personal information from data submissions or credit card details. All information is processed directly through our payment processors. We will only maintain your details for membership purposes and will never share or sell your information to external organizations.

Sauna guidelines

It is essential that you follow health and safety protocols during each sauna visit.

• Sauna access is restricted to individuals aged 16 and over.
• Do not apply any creams, oils, or lotions prior to use.
• Bring a fresh cotton towel to sit on. This maintains hygiene and comfort while protecting the benches from body oils.
• Do not consume food, alcohol, or substances before your session as this may cause nausea, dizziness, or loss of consciousness.
• Benches and floors can be slippery—exercise caution when moving within the sauna.
• Never pour water on the heating stones when others are near the stove, as the rapid steam release may cause burns.
• To avoid dehydration, consume adequate water before, during, and after your session.
• Limit your time in the sauna to 10-15 minutes. A cooling break of 5-10 minutes is recommended (or take a swim) before re-entering.
• Exit the sauna immediately if you experience dizziness, nausea, or lightheadedness, and notify a staff member.
• Do not use the sauna if you have any open wounds.
• Expectant mothers should seek medical advice before using the sauna.
• Sauna use is not advised for individuals with cardiovascular or blood pressure conditions.
• Remove all jewelry before entering and ensure your swimwear contains no metal components. Metal can heat rapidly and cause burns.
• Do not hang garments to dry in the sauna, as this presents a fire hazard.

Assumption of risk and liability

In exchange for permission to utilize the sauna facilities located at Duncannon OR ANY OTHER LOCATION WHERE THE SALTY SAUNA OPERATES, you, the user, hereby execute this Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver Form (the 'Waiver') upon confirming your reservation. This Waiver encompasses the entire duration of your sauna use pursuant to the booking agreement with The Salty Sauna, Duncannon, Co. Wexford (the 'Operator'). For purposes of this Waiver, the "Operator Related Parties" include the Operator's management, staff, contractors, agents and representatives, volunteers, sponsors, insurance providers, or equipment suppliers.

This Waiver pertains to use of the "Sauna" being the designated booked session period and associated facilities including without limitation, access points including steps, showers, or cold plunge baths located within the immediate proximity of the sauna and does not extend to any area outside the immediate sauna vicinity.

Risk factors

I understand and acknowledge that my use of the sauna involves inherent risks including, but not limited to, the risk of property damage, physical injury, and potentially death. I am choosing to use the sauna of my own volition and confirm that my decision to use the sauna and to execute this Waiver is completely voluntary. I accept full responsibility for all risks that may arise from, or result from, directly or indirectly, my use of the sauna.

Acknowledgment of sauna guidelines

I acknowledge, warrant, and confirm the following:

• This sauna is not monitored inside by the Operator, its staff, or any Operator Related Parties.
• I have reviewed and agree to adhere to all Sauna Guidelines and understand that safe and appropriate use of the sauna depends upon strict adherence to these Guidelines.
• I have no medical conditions whatsoever that would prevent me from using the sauna.
• I possess the skill, qualification, physical capability, and preparation necessary to properly and safely use the sauna. Should I have any questions regarding what skill, qualification, or preparation is necessary, I shall direct such inquiries to my physician and/or the appropriate professionals.
• I understand that the Operator reserves the right to revoke or terminate my authorization to use the sauna for any breach of this Waiver or the Sauna Guidelines.

Damages

I agree to compensate for any and all damages to property belonging to the Operator or any Operator Related Party caused by me negligently, intentionally, or otherwise.

Insurance

I understand that I am exclusively responsible for any medical, health, or personal injury expenses relating to my use of the sauna. I understand that if I have any concerns, I should consult with my physician and undergo a physical examination prior to sauna use.

Waiver and indemnity

Except in cases of negligence, I, my spouse (if applicable), heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue the Operator nor any of the Operator Related Parties for any and all claims, liabilities, judgements, costs, and expenses related to such claims, for any property damage, property loss or theft, personal injury or illness, death, or other loss arising from or relating to my use of the sauna. I hereby further waive any legal protections afforded by law regarding any claims arising from my use of the sauna, including unknown future claims.

By confirming a reservation and using the sauna, you verify that you have read and fully comprehend the Sauna Guidelines and this Waiver, and understand that it relates to the surrender and release of your legal rights. Upon such, you agree to this Waiver freely and voluntarily, with the full intent of releasing the Operator and Operator Related Parties from liability for injury or loss due to the inherent risks of your use of the sauna.
